Soybean protein

Soybean protein

More Details

What is Soybean protein?

Soy protein is the protein contained in soybean products, with a content of about 38% or more, which is 4 to 5 times more than cereals. Soy protein is a plant-based protein with an amino acid composition similar to that of milk protein, except for slightly lower methionine, and richer in all essential amino acids, making it a complete plant-based protein. In terms of nutritional value, it is equal to animal protein, and in terms of genetic structure, it is also the closest to human amino acids, so it is the most nutritious plant protein.

What are the types of Soybean protein products?

There are two types of soy protein products: soy protein powder and textured soy protein. Powdered soy protein products are soy protein-rich products obtained by defatting, removing or partially removing carbohydrates from soybeans as raw materials, and are divided into three types depending on the protein content. Organized soy protein is the raw material of powdered soy protein products by extrusion and cooking process to obtain products with a structure similar to that of meat, depending on the protein content, divided into two types.

Benefits of Soybean protein

Soybean is rich in protein, which is more than twice as much as that of cereal crops such as wheat and rice, usually between 40% and 50%. In terms of amino acid content, soy protein is the only plant protein reported to contain the nine essential amino acids required by the human body at a level that meets human needs, and is recognized as a full-value protein.

Modern people need food that is appetizing, without adverse side effects, and rich in nutrients. Among the available food groups, there is no better crop with these conditions and abundant sources of raw materials than soybeans. Drinks made from soy protein are known as "green milk" by nutritionists.

Soy protein drinks are easier to digest and absorb than milk. Milk enters the stomach and tends to form large, hard lumps, while soy milk enters the stomach and forms small flakes that are soft and not hard, making it easier to digest and absorb.
